Knitted in Scotland from 100% traceable bluefaced leicester from British farms we know by name
Knitted in Scotland from 100% traceable bluefaced leicester from British farms we know by name
Crafted from 100% traceable British wool in a classic herringbone, the Holt gilet is made entirely in the UK using materials sourced from British farms and manufacturers. Each component, from wool to finishing, is carefully traced back to its origin, ensuring transparency, quality and support for British farming and making.
Every piece of British wool we use is fully traceable back to British farms and the farmers behind them. At a time when many UK sheep farmers are paid less for their wool than it costs to shear, we believe this natural, renewable fibre deserves real value. By choosing British wool, we’re backing local farmers, paying 25p above auction price for their wool, protecting rural livelihoods, and supporting the landscapes they care for; ensuring wool remains a respected part of British farming for generations to come.
Each CLÒ FOLD garment carries a thread back to the land. Our labels features a QR code that traces the wool back to its British farm and region of origin. It allows a deeper connection to where each piece begins, celebrating British farms and farmers. Inviting a sense of pride in knowing the land behind what you wear.
We’re proud to work closely with the British Wool Marketing Board - the farmer-run organisation that collects and grades fully traceable British fleece from over 30,000 sheep farms across the UK.
As a natural, renewable and biodegradable fibre with exceptional durability, climate-adaptive performance, moisture-management and flame-resistant properties, British wool is not just sustainable - it’s one of the most versatile, high-performing materials on the planet. Choosing it means supporting local farmers and a truly circular, responsible supply chain.
Dee McGilvray launched CLÒ FOLD at the end of 2025, following her graduation from Norwich University of the Arts and eighteen months freelancing with London design studios. Growing up in the countryside, and living in Norfolk, Dee’s deep-rooted love for rural landscapes has long shaped her way of seeing and making. Having spent significant time in the Yorkshire Dales, alongside family roots in Scotland, her connection to land, heritage and traditional craft runs deep.
Shaped by a desire to understand where clothing truly begins, CLÒ FOLD was founded on a commitment to traceability;
placing British wool, British farms, native breeds and UK manufacturing at its core. Passionate about actively supporting and backing British farmers, this commitment sits at the heart of the brand. Dee set out to create garments that honour the land, the maker, and the journey between them. Each piece reflects a quiet respect for the countryside that inspires it, celebrating clothing as something grown, made and worn with care.
